Agenda for Woodfield Residents' Meeting – April 2

FIRST:  Please accept your blog invitation so you can activate your membership and participate in this forum.

  • Decision to merge our group with another “Indivisible” group – 5 minutes
    • Avoid duplication of effort
    • Gain leverage through larger numbers in the same county
    • Eliminate the need to reinvent the wheel
    • Cross-fertilize: We will send 2 reps to their meetings and they can send 2 to ours
  • Introduce representative of the group with which we are merging – 10 minutes
    • Comments from their representative
  • Treasure Coast Action Central – New online information clearinghouse to aid in keeping the group informed and providing information for use in letters, lobbying, calls to action, etc. – Jeff Berger – 10 minutes 
  • Lobbying at Posey’s office – Marlene – 3 minutes
    • Need list of people interested in participating in this activity
    • Date is still TBD by Posey’s office
    • Need 3-5 people per visit – Pass around sheet for people to sign up
  • Letter writers – Letters to the Editor – Gail – 10 minutes
    • Current team: Gail Solomon, Tim Cotton, Jeff Berger, Felice Stone, Bob Ganz
    • Anyone else interested? (Note – anyone can always write own letters at any time. This is to create a coordinated, planned effort to continually keep important issues before the public, rotating topics as required.
    • Proposed topics – education, environment, senior issues (Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security). Need to drill down to more detail.
    • Proposed process
  • New business – solicit input from the floor – 10 minutes
  • Next steps – 15 minutes -- 
    • Letter writers to meet to discuss specific points to be covered on each topic
    • Volunteers to write initial draft on each topic
    • Sign-up sheet for e-mail/text alerts for quick turnaround calls to action – e.g. Call Senators TODAY about XXXX.
